New Youth Choir Seeks Members
ONEONTA — Catskill Choral Society — with more than 40 years of bringing quality choral masterworks to the area through its holiday and spring concerts — looks to inspire a new generation of vocal enthusiasts.
The group seeks children ages 9 through 14 for its new Catskill Choral Society Youth Choir. Open to area boys and girls, the choir will begin with vocal placements from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, at the First United Presbyterian Church at 381 Main St. in Oneonta. Rehearsals begin Tuesday, February 11, at the same time and location.
R. Colin Armstrong, DMA, will lead the group in addition to his role as music director for the adult choir.

Dox Apprenticeship Program Auditions
Calling all area high school junior and senior singers! Auditions for the Dox Apprenticeship Program begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, January 23, at Unitarian Universalist Church at 16 Ford Avenue in Oneonta.
The program provides the opportunity for apprentices to perform with an accomplished adult chorus, to receive private voice lessons with a professional voice teacher to develop their vocal technique and to support them with preparing for the concert. Students receive two complimentary tickets to the concert and an invitation to continue singing with the Choral Society, without dues, for an additional semester following their participation as an apprentice.
